$28 Billion for the Pub Industry in 2014

According to the Association of American Publishers (AAP), “U.S. Publishing Industry’s Annual Survey Reveals $28 Billion in Revenue in 2014.”

A small 4.6% revenue increase from 2013 – small but heading in the right direction, which of course is promising for the publishing industry!  Even more promising for Misread Press and other publishers catering to Children & Young Adult audiences is that this area of trade book publishing showed the greatest growth. Growth in the double digits for both revenue and units in just one year.
And no one medium is ruling the market; all three – hardback, e-book, and paperback are showing steady market growth.
Retail sales are up, but the e-market still rules book sales world. And with Amazon as leader of the game currently and in world becoming more and more digital every day, I don’t foresee that changing.
